INTERVIEW:

Name / Age / Where you’re from

Gabrielle Current. 25. Los Angeles, CA.

Tell us about your background – have you always been modeling and singing?

I grew up in Pasadena, California and found my love for music at a very young age. I was especially inspired by the atmosphere artists would create during their live shows, and knew I wanted to create similar spaces when I was older. After finishing school, I started writing music of my own. I’ve always loved R&B/soul because of the way it made me feel, so I began working on my debut EP Virgo and finally landed on a sound that feels like me.

I also grew up modeling. I’ve always admired the process of seeing a creative vision come to life.

When you’re not modeling, writing music, and recording – what are your favorite ways to unplug from the buzz of everyday life?

Lately, I’ve been enjoying finding other outlets in relation to my music, like design. I’ve had a lot of fun designing a small batch of CURRENT merchandise and putting together that project

I’ve also been unplugging by doing little getaways with friends.

What are you most excited for in 2022?

I can’t wait to bring my songs to life through live performances, so I hope to be doing more shows. I’m also looking forward to seeing how my music will evolve over time, hopefully exploring new sounds and working with more collaborators.

So in the meantime, you can connect with me on IG to stay up to date on everything coming soon.

Any advice for someone who’s looking to break into singing?

Persistence is key. As long as you love what you’re doing and what you’re making, I really believe everything else will fall into place when it’s supposed to.

What are your fav essentials in your closet (ex a pair of all white sneakers, basics, etc)

Vintage tees, oversized jackets, trousers, and lots of layered gold jewelry.
