To start, tell us who you are.

IKOY ENRIQUEZ

Where are you originally from and how did you get into skateboarding?

I was born at the Manila hospital in 2001 then I grew up in Cavite. At the age of 9 I started noticing how cool skateboarding is. My father decided to give me a skateboard for my 10th birthday.

Who were the guys you looked up to when you started skating?

Lockdown affected me because a lot of things were put on hold such as competitions, skate shoots, and being unable to reach out to spots and skateparks.

What was your favorite part during the filming of “Out Here”?

I think my favorite part of filming is where we chose to film at. We skated at some of the most popular and legendary spots in the Philippines (Around Manila)

When you’re not skateboarding/Filming – what are your favorite ways to unplug from the buzz of everyday life?

I focus on myself, family and future (school).

Any advice for someone who’s new to skateboarding?

Just skate and have fun. Don’t worry about what people think. What are your favorite DC shoes? Kalis Vulc S and William Slim.

Any one you wanna give a shoutout to wrap up the interview?

Shout out to all of my friends and sponsors. Ares distribution, Skatewerx Skateshop and DC Shoes. Thank you so much for the continued support.
